Summary: I really loved my stay at Le Francanne. My hosts were kind and helpful. The kitchen and bath were very modern and nice looking, with modern appliances. I also used the washer and dryer upstairs a couple of times, and that was nice to be able to use. There was lots of thoughtful tech. Window shades lowered and raised on a timer. The light on the stairway came on and turned off automatically, so I never had to worry about finding a switch for that. The heat worked great so I never had to worry about that. There were 3 electronic switches for the bedroom lights, one by the door and on each side of the bed, so that was very convenient. There was also a nightstand light that was very convenient. There were plenty of outlets for my tech gear. There were lots of thoughtful things in the apartment, including a shopping bag. The neighborhood was very quiet and I always felt safe. It was an easy drive to the supermarket and other stores, and also the main street of Flemalle with restaurants and banks. I had originally thought of staying in downtown Liege. I’m glad I didn’t do that. I drove there once and the traffic in downtown Liege was a nightmare. From Le Francanne google maps would take me around the outside of Liege so I didn’t have to deal with that traffic. I used my stay at Flemalle to travel to WWII battlefields in the area and tourist spots in the Netherlands. It was a good central location for that.
