The home is a custom built, one of a kind timber frame house located on 14 acres with your own private beach. The house was built by retired father and son (owner), making this a true labour of love. This was a 6 year endeavor/hobby for the two, starting from the raw log and sawing all timbers and materials on site. This includes all traditional joinery connected using wooden pegs, along with many other custom features. The home was completed in 2010 and has breathtaking views of Merigomish harbour which opens into the Northumberland Strait. The shallow entry waters make for safe and enjoyable swimming for all ages. During low tide, kids can run and have hours of fun exploring the sand bars and finding treasures. This house is perfect for enjoying morning coffees or evening cocktails on the deck overlooking the stunning ocean, taking long walks on your beach, watching your kids run on the picturesque sand bars or enjoying a BBQ with friends while watching the sun set low over the Merigomish Harbour. You won't regret spending a week away from it all in this beach front oasis.
This property has its own private sandy beach. You can enjoy the stunning views from the deck or go for a leisurely walk on your secluded beach and watch the sun go down over the ocean. The house is centrally located on a 100 acres family owned property.
It is located minutes away from Melmerby beach Provincial Park which is located on the Northumberland Shore. The Northumberland is known for it's warm waters, averaging more than 22 degrees Celsius (72F) in the summer, Melmerby is a popular 2-km (1.25-mi) beach with boardwalks.
It is centrally located and only 20 minutes to New Glasgow and all necessary amenities. There is also a variety store located 5 minutes away, which will accommodate all your basic needs, including a adult beverages. :) .
This property is also close to many Maritime attractions; including the PEI ferry(25 mins drive), scenic Cabot Trail (1hr 45mins drive), Cape Breton island (1hr 15mins drive) and historic Halifax (1 hr 30 mins drive).
