Hammerstein Highland House is a unique and beautiful British Colonial style estate on 17 acres on the hillside in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Oscar Hammerstein wrote 'The Sound of Music' from the terrace, overlooking the beautiful hillside. We have had quite a few celebrity guests including Meryl Streep. This villa is rich with history.
Hammerstein Highland House is very private and located just 7 minutes from the beach and 20 minutes from Sangster International Airport and the HipStrip. We have steady breezes and breathtaking views of Montego Bay.
The home is fully staffed with a chef, butler, housekeeper, gardener, nightwatchman and laundress. A van and driver can be arranged for any size group.
Roundtrip airport transfers are $40 per person, or you can get a van and driver daily or weekly. We will make these arrangements for you ahead of time to make your travels seamless.
We boast a screened in yoga pavilion, complete with wooden floors and ceiling fans. A yoga instructor can be arranged for private sessions. Private massages can also be arranged for the time you want and can be given at your favorite location in our villa or on the ground.
We have a five acre organic garden. The produce is used for our optional meal plan. The meal plan is just $55 per adult per night. Our chef can prepare food to suit your needs, including vegan. Or you can take the grocery plan and buy your own groceries and our cook will prepare what you ask for. All beverages can be purchased on your own and brought into the villa, so that you are not paying inflated prices.
