Summary: Oh wow this house! This might be my favourite Vrbo house ever. The photos seriously don't do it justice. Kitchen is great - well stocked with everything you'd need, including 2 fridges and 2 dishwashers. It's clearly a house that is lived in rather than just used as a holiday place, so has been well maintained. Gregoire and Alexandra are excellent hosts, unobtrusive but easily available when we needed them (they spend the summer in a cottage next door). Gregoire's tour told us some of the history of the place which was genuinely fascinating. I also appreciated that the hosts were relatively relaxed about house rules (unlike some other places where I have spent all week worrying about children leaving footprints on wood floors!) We had Alexandra cook a meal for us, which I would definitely recommend - superb flavours and beautifully presented. Not really any down-sides to this place, but a few things to note for future guests... You need insect repellent in the forest or if you sit out in the evenings. The house is not close to any villages so you end up driving every day to get food etc. Bikes are useful. Our kids were a bit sensitive to the pool chemicals so we would hose everyone down after they'd been in. But honestly, this is a fantastic place and great value for money - my only fear is that when I look at this listing in a year's time it will be 100% booked out or double the price.
