At Espe even Hans Christian Andersen, the famous Danish poet and author of art fairy tales, stayed. Korsør, Slagelse and Næstved can be reached within 30 km. Stigsnæs, 7 km southwest of Skælskør, has a ferry connection to the islands of Agersø and Omø. The islands have beautiful harbors and are good destinations for excursions. Sail across the Great Belt and visit the beautiful castles on Funen, for example Egeskov, or visit Legoland in BIllund. Anglers have good opportunities to fish along the coast. Birkegårdens Haver, a show garden with animal and play park on 10,000 m², is also worth a visit. In Kragerup Gods you can experience the treetop trail, play soccer and canoe in the moat.
